STAR WARS in 3D

Thats right people, the film saga that started a world wide cult phenomenon may be re-rendered and re-released in full 3D by 2015, but this has angered the millions of jedi wanabies who believe that the films should be left in there original state. The six films worth $4 billion alone at the box office, may not make such an impact the second time round as the fans have sworn not to see the re-rendered 3D versions. I for one would love to see these ground breaking films in full 3D!.

The star wars films have been going for 33 years now and here are some of the best scenes from all six movies.

Enjoy.

I want that.... "Toshiba Libretto W100"

We are loving the design of the new Toshiba Libretto W100.

After having an I Pad in the office for testing recently and liking it but not being particularly impressed, we have come across this lovely new design from Toshiba. The Toshiba design has some really cool features which make it a rather desirable piece of hardware..

1. Dual touch screen - This is a fantastic feature - one screen can be a QWERTY keyboard and the other a normal display. Alternatively use as a dual screen  notebook or as a book with two visible pages (Like a REAL book!)Watch a movie and surf the web at the same time, compose a document and search for images without changing screens. The list of reasons why this is better than an I Pad is ridiculous. As soon as this is 1080p HD it will be a real force to be reckoned with.

2. Fold away screens. - This is about longevity and aesthetics. The Toshiba doesnt need a case that could detract from its looks to protect its delicate screens.

3. Shareware - Commonly recognised ss one of Apples huge failings. You dont have to buy everything for your device from Apple, your music doesnt have to be solely purchased through Itunes. You dont need to jailbreak your kit and invalidate warranties to use the software you want.

4. The design - whilst we agree I Pad does look cool the Toshiba is like a DS on steroids as far as looks goes. It is slick, well put together and is certainly no worse to look at. We really like it.

Artist of the Week #25 Ben Procter

Ben Procter has been a concept artist for such films as The Terminal, Sky Captain and the Matrix Trilogy, but his best job title has to be Lead Robot Designer on both Transformers Movies. Ben Procter was definitely the guy for the job. With his ability to mix 3D modelling and Photoshop post-production, as well as the innovative design. Ben has to be one of the greatest digital character artists of this generation.

Make A Dream Charity

Hello All,

I wanted to tell you about a fantastic charity event that comes to Leeds United every November for one night only!

On the 11th November 2010 the Gala dinner event of Make A Dream returns to Elland Road's conference centre for a fun packed night but more importantly to raise as much money as possible.

Make A Dream is a Leeds based charity making “Dreams” come true for Yorkshire’s sick and terminally ill children. Throughout the night films of M.A.D stories play reminding everyone what their donations are helping to create. Some children want to swim with dolphins or visit NASA and others may only want a visit to a football stadium or to meet a famous celebrity. The charity raises money to help as many children fulfil their dreams, but some unfortunately don’t make it to their special day.

Most years I attend to help with the evening. The night is built up of around 120 tables of 12 guests, a three course meal, celebrity guests (this year being Bobby Davro, Sir David Frost and Harry Redknapp) and a vast range of products for auction. The nights aim is to raise as much money as possible but also allows guests to enjoy an eventful evening.

To find out more or help contribute towards the charity, visit http://www.makeadream.org/

World's Safest School Bus

This school bus photo looks funny yet interesting. I think it is worth to award the school bus with "World's safest school bus" title. The school bus also can grab the title of the best rollover protection in the road crash accident. Can you agree with these?

Funny Winter Car Crash

This crash happened at America during winter time in the year 2007. I'm quite amazed to learn that actually there was somebody who can drive crazily like this. While we laugh at it, do not forget about the lesson of the story. If you never drive in snow, don't try unless there is someone experience besides you, together with proper tyres and chains.

The almost-17-million-viewers Youtube video is a very true event as I have experienced this craziness before, but not as bad as the shown video la.

New Road Safety Program - Love Life

PLUS Expressway Bhd and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros) launched the Love Life campaign to create awareness of road safety through music. PLUS and Miros distributed 5,000 music CDs entitled Love Life to motorists at the Subang Jaya NKVE toll plaza here recently. (but MIROS staff didn't get one. So sad...)

A total of 5000 CDs were distributed to motorists at 10 major toll plazas in the country over three days before Hari Raya. Fourteen popular Malaysian artistes performed theme song entitled Love Life and nine other songs in the first local album dedicated o road safety.

Sponsored by PLUS and produced for Miros by award winning composer Johan Nawawi, the album's 10 songs were performed by Nora, Zainal Abidin, Datuk Khatijah Ibrahim, Jacklyn Victor, Dayang Nur Faizah, Noh Hujan, Nabil Mentor, Dina, Sheila OIAM, Tomok, Desiree, Hunny Madu, Remy Ishak and Cakra Sonic. It also features motorcycle racing champion Wazi Abdul Hamid.

Miros director-general Prof Dr Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah said: "Music is a very powerful means of persuasion and we hope it will give us the much-needed breakthrough in communicating the importance of good road safety practice to the masses and in the process become an effective platform in reducing road accidents and fatalities."

He said despite the campaigns which have been initiated throughout the year through activities, enforcement, new laws, and the use of print, broadcast and social media, the number of accidents and fatalities in the country remained alarmingly high.

Last year, there were 397,330 road accidents with 6,745 deaths. Sixty per cent of the fatalities were motorcyclists and pillion riders. Dr Ahmad said worldwide studies have long determined that music has a profound physical and psychological effect in communicating social ideas, values and influencing the lives of a much larger audience. He said Love Life is about road safety, and has proven to have a positive impact on the subconscious minds of the motorists, influencing their behaviour, action and attitude.

Plus Expressway Bhd chief executive officer Nik Airina Jaffar said the campaign is in line with their road safety programme called Malaysians Unite for Road Safety or Mufors for short.

"Mufors started last September and 24,000 Malaysians took an oath to drive safely. This year, the motorists were urged to make road safety a priority in their lives. With the launch of the Love Life campaign and album, we hope to work together to reduce road accidents and fatalities," she said.
